A to Z Maps Online is a collection of more than 146,000 maps that includes proprietary, royalty-free world, continent, country, and state maps.  There are outline maps, political maps, physical maps, thematic maps, climate change maps, environment maps, historic maps, hurricane maps, earthquake maps, volcano maps, fire maps, animal and plant species distribution maps, current event maps, geology maps, and topographic maps.  Also includes flag images, geography crossword puzzles, geography lesson plans, interactive geography games quizzes and learning tools, and geography, cartography, GIS and other glossaries. New maps are added every month.   Remote access from home or office requires a patron library card number.

 

Search state, regional and national full-text articles including printed and online newspapers, blogs, journals, newswires, broadcast transcripts and videos.  Explore a specific issue or event or compare a wide variety of viewpoints on topics such as business, health, education, government, history, politics and more including the Altus Times, Daily Ardmoreite, the Oklahoman and USA Today.

Home Improvement Reference Center offers information for the weekend warrior. Check here for an online tool for home improvement assistance, including: maintenance, remodeling, electrical work, plumbing, wood projects, outdoor improvements, decorating home & garden, etc.

Small Engine Repair Reference Center contains information from 400 reference books in full text with photos and illustrations for small engine repair and maintenance information for ATVS, motorcycles, tractors, lawnmowers, personal watercraft, motor boats and more.

Sirs Discoverer and eLibrary Elementary are designed for the younger reader and researcher.  Search full-text, indexed articles and graphics from more than 1,400 magazines, newspapers and U.S. Government documents. EBSCOhost offers databases of general interest, academic and business magazine titles, health reference information, and much more. Many articles are available in full text. Infoplease is a comprehensive reference source that combines the contents of an encyclopedia, a dictionary, an atlas, and several almanacs loaded with statistics, facts, and historical records.

LitFinder contains more than 125,000 full-text poems, 850,000 poem citations and excerpts, and thousands of full-text short stories, essays, speeches, and plays. LitFinder also includes biographies, work summaries, photographs, and a glossary of poetry terms.

Magill's Medical Guide online provides access to the 3,200 pages of text found in the five-volume print version (also available in the Library - Call Number REF 610.3 Mag). The online indexes offer fast access to the Guide's glossary, table of contents, anatomy and systems affected, medical specialties and related fields, and diseases and conditions, plus lists of health care providers, medical journals, pharmaceuticals, health organizations, recommended web sites, and contributors.

They can search by topic heading, make use of an online dictionary and encyclopedia, and explore the top searches of the day.
