The Reference Staff answers questions, helps patrons locate local library
materials, assists patrons in their research, and provides information about resources beyond the
library's collection. People
come to the reference desk to find specific answers: students doing
reports, people starting career exploration or beginning job searches, visitors
looking for family roots, do-it-yourself projects and tenants and landlords
looking up state and city ordinances. Reference staff can also help organizations, associations, and government
agencies.
